Harry Kane Equals England Great with Record-Breaking World Cup Goal 👑

Harry Kane has once again proved his consistency on the biggest stage, finding the back of the net in England’s World Cup opener in Dallas this evening.

The Bayern Munich forward opened the scoring for the Three Lions from the penalty spot against Group L rivals Croatia, even after initially missing his first attempt. A reprieve came when a Croatian player encroached into the penalty area too early, allowing Kane a retake — which he calmly converted.

That strike marked Kane’s 12th goal contribution in World Cup competition, achieved remarkably in only 12 appearances. In doing so, he joined an elite list of English football legends.

The former Tottenham Hotspur captain became only the second player ever to score for England in three different World Cups — 2018, 2022, and 2026 — following in the footsteps of David Beckham, who achieved the same feat in 1998, 2002, and 2006.

Kane wasn’t done there. He later restored England’s lead with a superb header after Croatia had drawn level, continuing his impressive form on the world stage.

At 32, Kane seems to be improving with age, showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. His composure and finishing ability remain as sharp as ever.

With this early form, speculation is already mounting over whether Kane and Erling Haaland could be the frontrunners for the tournament’s Golden Boot award.
