Former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior is reportedly being considered for a managerial role in Ligue 1, with Paris FC exploring the possibility of appointing him ahead of the new season.
The French capital club have held discussions with Rosenior about potentially taking charge if current head coach Antoine Kombouare departs during the summer. Kombouare, who guided Paris FC to an impressive 11th-place finish in Ligue 1 after their promotion, has earned praise for steering the side comfortably clear of relegation concerns. However, uncertainty surrounding his contract extension has prompted the club to evaluate alternative options.
As per French outlet L’Equipe, Rosenior is among the names contacted by Paris FC. The 41-year-old manager had previously earned recognition for his work at Strasbourg before moving to Chelsea, a sister club, last season.
Rosenior signed a five-and-a-half-year contract at Stamford Bridge, but his tenure ended abruptly after just three months due to disappointing results. During his short spell, he managed 11 victories in 23 matches across all competitions before being dismissed following a 3-0 defeat to Brighton in April.
That loss marked Chelsea’s fifth consecutive league defeat without scoring, representing their worst goalless losing run since 1912. The poor run ultimately sealed Rosenior’s fate, with the club opting to make a managerial change before the season’s conclusion.
Paris FC are now weighing up whether Rosenior’s experience in both French football and the Premier League could make him a viable candidate to replace Kombouare, should a departure occur in the coming weeks.
