Avore Electric Bike— While till now electric scooters have had a one-sided dominance in the Indian electric two-wheeler market, now there is going to be a major upheaval in the electric motorcycle segment. The upcoming new electric bike ‘Avore’ from Ahmedabad, Gujarat-based automotive startup Samarth E-Mobility Private Ltd has been spotted testing on public roads for the first time. Seen in full camouflage, this street-fighter style bike is set to directly challenge the most popular 150cc to 200cc petrol bike segment of the Indian auto market.

Testing in Ahmedabad: First glimpse of premium features and muscular look

This test mule, seen on SG Highway in Ahmedabad and near the R&D Centre, clearly shows that the company is maintaining the design of traditional ICE (petrol) motorcycles. The model seen on the roads has alloy wheels, front and rear disc brakes, LED lighting all around and split seats, just like 150cc to 200cc premium commuter bikes. Its muscular stance and heavy-duty body work directly covers its large battery pack. Apart from this, for the convenience of the rider, it can also be seen with a wide street-style handle bar, slightly set back footpegs and an advanced TFT instrument cluster, which will support Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and music controls.

Strengths of in-house software and hardware: What are the specifications?

Unlike other EV brands in the market, which only assemble by bringing parts from China or other countries, Samarth e-Mobility is working completely on indigenous technology. The company has developed a proprietary technology stack called ‘AVORE Source’ and ‘AVR Platform’ for this. The company has so far filed more than 110 patents (IP filings) for this project.

According to leaked information and automotive reports, the technical specifications available in this bike are as follows:

  • Battery Pack: It will have IP67 rated dust and water-resistant battery pack of 5 kWh capacity.
  • Thermal Management: Keeping the Indian climate in mind, it has been provided with a patented 4-way thermal management system for the first time.
  • Motor Power: The bike will get a 10.5 kW (about 14 bhp) mid-mounted motor running on 72V architecture, which claims 95% efficiency.
  • Software: It will have the company’s own operating system and an AI system called ‘Avore Sense’ which will track the rider’s behavior and give predictive maintenance alerts.

What do the officials and the company say?

What will be the impact on the general public and when will it be launched?

This new bike can become a great option for the working youth and daily commuters of Ahmedabad and other big cities of the country who spend huge amount on petrol every month. Since it offers 150-200cc performance, users will have the freedom to cover long distances at low cost without compromising on power. The company has already completed more than 51,000 kilometers of real-world testing and torture tests through ICAT and NATRAX. At present the homologation (government approval process) of the vehicle is going on. It is expected that the company will announce its official launch, prices and booking dates in the coming few months.
