digital desk- After the crushing defeat in the West Bengal Assembly elections, the fire of historic rebellion in Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress had not yet cooled down when a new political storm has come in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and veteran BJP leader Keshav Prasad Maurya has made a claim in Kanpur, which has created a stir in the Samajwadi Party (SP) camp. Deputy CM Maurya claims that about 25 to 26 MPs of SP are dissatisfied with the current leadership and they are fully prepared to change sides or break away.
“25-26 SP MPs are in touch, but we are not breaking away”
Speaking to the media after an event organized at Brijendra Swaroop Park in Kanpur, Keshav Prasad Maurya said, “25-26 MPs of Samajwadi Party are ready to break at this time and are in touch with us, but we are not breaking them.” Taking a sharp jibe at SP, he further said that no matter how many conferences or meetings Akhilesh Yadav’s party holds, it will not do any good. SP is going to go back to ‘Saifai’ very soon, while BJP is in power in Lucknow and will remain in power in Lucknow in future too. He also made it clear that BJP has no role in the disintegration of opposition parties in the country, it is the result of their internal discord.
TMC has broken, now danger looms over Shiv Sena too
This statement of Keshav Prasad Maurya has come at a time when there is already a phase of defection in the country’s politics. In West Bengal, 20 rebel TMC MPs have rebelled against the party and announced their merger into a regional party called ‘Nationalist Citizens Party of India’ and have announced their support to the NDA government at the Centre. This rebel group has also met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and asked for a separate sitting place in the Parliament. At the same time, there is also news from Maharashtra that 5 Shiv Sena MPs of Uddhav Thackeray faction are on the path of rebellion and may soon merge with some other party.
Akhilesh Yadav’s heartbeat increased before the great match of 2027
If this claim of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya turns into reality, then it will be the biggest blow yet for Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. It is noteworthy that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party had made a historic performance by winning 37 seats in Uttar Pradesh and also snatched the VIP seat like Ayodhya from BJP. In such a situation, if BJP succeeds in bringing two-thirds of SP MPs into its fold before the elections, then Samajwadi Party will be completely on the back foot in Uttar Pradesh and this will have a direct impact on the political equations of the state in the future.
