Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has given clarification on his controversial statement regarding rebel MPs. He said that he did not use derogatory language against anyone, rather he used the kind of language that is spoken in Maharashtra. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Raut said that people in Maharashtra use such words in everyday conversations. He said that he knows very well what kind of language should be used on which platform. Raut said that he is the editor of ‘Saamana’ and understands the language.
In fact, while talking to the media, Sanjay Raut had termed the rebel MPs as ‘dishonest’ and ‘traitors’. During this, he used very objectionable and indecent language and asked the journalists not to beep or cut off his words. After which a controversy arose regarding his language.
Sanjay Raut’s clarification
In response to questions raised on parliamentary decorum, Sanjay Raut said that such language is not used in Parliament. He said that if any person indulges in corruption, dishonesty or leaves the party after taking money, then action should be taken against him. He questioned whether such people should be left without any accountability.
On the alleged objectionable language used for rebel MPs, Sanjay Raut said, ‘We use such words in Marathi language. What is wrong in this? I know very well when to talk to whom and in what language. Man understands only that language which he understands. I have not used this kind of language in Parliament. What would you call a person who leaves the party with Rs 15 crore? Will flowers be showered on such people?
Discussion on ‘Operation Tiger’ intensifies
Sanjay Raut made it clear that till now no MP has officially informed about leaving the party or expressing disagreement. However, the party has called a meeting of all MPs to discuss the issue. It is noteworthy that these days the discussion about ‘Operation Tiger’ is intense in the politics of Maharashtra. There is speculation that seven out of nine Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs are in touch with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and may join the ruling party. However, no official announcement has been made yet.
