National Award-winning filmmaker Ujjwal Chatterjee unveiled his upcoming Bengali film,
Hirak Ranir Deshe , at a press conference in Kolkata on Tuesday. Inspired by contemporary social realities, the film is a political satire that examines themes of power, governance and society through an engaging and thought-provoking narrative.
The film marks the return of veteran actress Jaya Prada to Bengali cinema . The cast also includes Rajnandini Paul, Badsha Moitra, Bhaswar Chatterjee, Amrita Chattopadhyay, Kharaj Mukherjee and several others in pivotal roles.
Speaking about the film, Chatterjee described
Hirak Ranir Deshe as a reflection of present-day issues, using satire as a powerful tool to comment on the changing socio-political landscape.
