Gujarat Titans Speedster Earns Major Move Following Impressive IPL 2026 Campaign

The Rajasthan cricket team has gotten a real significant blow ahead of the new domestic season, like one of its brightest fast-bowling prospects has decided to leave the state setup. After grabbing attention with his pace and some pretty impressive performances for Gujarat Titans, Ashok Sharma is now basically set to start a new chapter with Gujarat in domestic cricket.

Ashok’s unexpected decision came not too long after his breakthrough IPL 2026 season with Gujarat Titans. The young pacer impressed both fans and experts, with his raw pace and aggressive approach, and it was kind of hard to ignore. Even though he kicked off the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 strongly, he still struggled to keep the same level of consistency throughout the tournament, there were moments where it slipped a bit .

The right arm speedster has, officially decided to represent Gujarat in domestic cricket from the upcoming season. He has already secured a No Objection Certificate NOC from the Rajasthan Cricket Association RCA, so the move is basically cleared. In talking about this call, the youngster said he thinks Gujarat will give more chances for skill growth and career building. Ashok Sharma told Times of India, “For better opportunities I decided to move to Gujarat.”

Now, his departure is a big concern for Rajasthan, mainly because the state’s pace bowling resources are already under pressure at this time, so there really isn’t much cushion left. Experienced pacers Deepak Chahar and Khaleel Ahmed sort of, have had injury problems in the last couple seasons. Right now 36-year-old Aniket Choudhary is basically Rajasthan’s lone experienced fast-bowling option as the new domestic campaign gets going.

Ashok had only made his senior debut for Rajasthan in December last season, but he quickly settled into the role, and looked like a really promising type. In only four First-Class matches, he took 14 wickets and showed he can trouble batters with real speed. What’s more, his white ball performances looked sharp too. He bagged 22 wickets in 16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy games, then followed it up with 13 wickets in just seven Vijay Hazare Trophy matches.

He got those standout displays across different formats, and in a way it sort of earned him a place in the Gujarat Titans squad for IPL 2026 , where people were praising him for both his speed and a longer term upside.

Ashok showed up in six matches for Gujarat Titans through IPL 2026 and he picked up six wickets. Plus he served the quickest ball of the season, clocking an impressive 154.2 kmph, which honestly turned a lot of heads. And then, GT actually made it to the IPL 2026 final, but they lost in a gut wrenching way to RCB at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad , yeah that one hurt.

Rajasthan concerns seem to have gotten even more serious now, because another capable pacer, Ganesh Suthar, has decided to leave the state too. Now he will turn out for Haryana in domestic cricket, and it is reported that he has also secured an NOC from the Rajasthan Cricket Association, as per Times of India.

Ganesh apparently had a really strong Under-23 campaign, and he ended up being the sixth-highest wicket-taker in the 2025-26 CK Nayudu Trophy. In total, he picked up 37 wickets in only eight matches, which is quite something. The young fast bowler has apparently shifted to Haryana hoping for better chances, a more promising pathway ahead, and maybe a little more room to grow.
