New Delhi. Diabetes patients have to take great care of their diet. A little carelessness increases their blood sugar. However, if the diet is planned wisely then blood sugar can be balanced well with taste and nutrition. There are some fruits and vegetables which have very less amount of sugar or none at all (Sugar free fruits and vegetables). Diabetic patients should include as many of these things as possible in their diet. Let us know about these things.
Beetroot
Sugar beets are one of the best sugar-free vegetables. The amount of calories in it is very less. It is a good source of folate for women. It helps in controlling blood pressure levels. In a 100 gram serving, you get 20% of folate, 0.2 grams of fat, 2 grams of fiber and up to 1.7 grams of protein. Apart from vegetables, you can also eat beetroot in salad or drink its juice.
Cabbage
Cabbage is a good source of fiber, manganese, vitamins B6, K, and C. It is rich in antioxidants which is considered very good for diabetic patients. Apart from vegetables, you can also eat it by adding it to salad or sandwich.
Papaya
Papayas contain low amount of sodium due to which it also keeps cholesterol and blood sugar under control. Nutrients like Vitamin A, C, folate, potassium, protein and fiber are found in papaya. Apart from this, essential Vitamin B, Calcium, Magnesium and Vitamin K are also found in it. Papaya also contains good amount of lycopene which keeps blood sugar under control and works to protect against some types of cancer.

Cauliflower
The taste of eating cauliflower increases in winter. There is no sugar at all in this vegetable. You get a good amount of Vitamin C in one cup of cauliflower. Apart from this, it is also a good source of fiber, potassium and folate. Apart from vegetables, it can also be eaten by adding it to soup, salad or chicken.
Tomato
Tomato is considered a superfood for diabetic patients. It is rich in vitamin C, A, potassium and other nutrients. Apart from being low-carb, it contains only 32 calories. Lycopene found in tomatoes helps fight cancer and also reduces the risk of heart diseases. Apart from this, eating tomatoes also keeps the skin good. Diabetic patients can eat tomatoes like salad or drinking hot tomato soup in winter is also beneficial.
spinach
Spinach comes first among nutritious vegetables. Especially diabetic patients can eat it with complete peace of mind. A very high amount of fiber and calcium is found in it. It does not increase the blood sugar level even if eaten in excess. One cup of raw spinach contains 1.1 grams of carbs, 4.3 grams of fiber and only 0.4 grams of natural sugar.
Guava
Guava is a fruit which does not contain sugar at all. It has very low glycemic index (GI) and high fiber. Many types of antioxidants are found in it which provide relief to diabetic patients from constipation. It also contains good amount of Vitamin C which reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes.
