YouTube In-App Chatting: You no longer need apps like WhatsApp or Telegram to share videos on YouTube. YouTube has integrated a messaging section directly into its app.
YouTube In-App Chatting: You won't need WhatsApp anymore to share videos you like with your friends. YouTube rolled out an in-app chatting feature a while ago, and it is now being expanded to over 40 countries, including the US, UK, Brazil, Italy, and Singapore. The benefit is that users won't have to rely on third-party apps to share videos; they can send them to family and friends directly through YouTube. Additionally, users can chat within YouTube, much like on WhatsApp, thanks to a dedicated messaging section.
What are the benefits of this new feature?
Previously, sharing YouTube videos required using other apps, a process that was quite cumbersome. It involved copying the video link, switching to a messaging app, pasting the link, and then sending it. That hassle is now gone; users can share videos using YouTube's built-in messaging interface. However, to use this feature, users must be signed into their YouTube accounts and be at least 18 years old. Senders have the option to "unsend" messages, while recipients can choose to accept or reject them.
How does this feature work?
Using this feature is incredibly simple. Open YouTube and select any video. Tap the share button and choose an existing contact from the list. You can also invite friends to chat. Once sent, the invitation link remains valid for 7 days. If the chat isn't joined within that period, the link expires and must be sent again. Additionally, users will have the option to start a new conversation by visiting the message section.
YouTube is no longer limited to just videos.
YouTube is no longer confined to just videos; the company aims to transform it into a platform where users can socialise alongside watching videos. With this new feature, the company hopes that users will remain engaged with the platform and chat with friends. This feature will also help YouTube retain users for longer periods.
