New Delhi, June 14. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta led the ‘Maa Yamuna River Bank Cleaning Campaign’ at Yamuna Ghat on Sunday. During this period, Delhi government ministers, MLAs and BJP workers conducted a large-scale cleaning campaign at several ghats located on the banks of Yamuna river. Thousands of volunteers from different organizations and party leaders also participated in this campaign.
On this occasion, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “Today thousands of volunteers from different organizations took part in ‘Shramdaan’ here. All the workers of our Bharatiya Janata Party also participated in the cleaning campaign and contributed through ‘Shramdaan’. The campaign to clean Yamuna has been going on continuously since 6 am on Sunday. Hundreds of trucks of garbage have been taken out from here.
People throw worship materials, clothes and idols of God and broken utensils in Yamuna. In such a situation, which God are we pleasing by cleaning the worship material in the house? If Mother Yamuna is dirty then no God will be happy. While cleaning Yamuna is completely the responsibility of the government, citizens have to understand their responsibility towards it. All the people living here will have to take a pledge not to throw garbage in Yamuna.”
CM Rekha Gupta said, “Today, volunteers of many organizations and BJP workers cleaned the 22 km long Yamuna banks. This cleanliness campaign will continue continuously. The Delhi government will work with full diligence and all people will also have to fulfill their responsibilities towards Yamuna. Union Minister of State and Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra also took part in the cleaning campaign at Yamuna Ghats.
Harsh Malhotra said, “Delhi government under the leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party and CM Rekha Gupta has taken up this responsibility and today many voluntary organizations are engaged in cleaning Yamuna at 28 different places across Delhi.” BJP MLA Umang Bajaj said, “Today, BJP workers are running a cleaning campaign in the service of Yamuna across Delhi. As you know, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed 12 years of public service. On this occasion, party workers are cleaning the Yamuna ghats.”
BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia said, “Under the leadership of Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the entire cabinet, all seven Delhi MPs, BJP MLAs, city councilors and thousands of party workers have come together for the Yamuna cleaning campaign.” In a large-scale campaign, people came together to clean many places including Yamuna Ghat, ITO Ghat and Kalindi Kunj and donated labor as part of the campaign to clean the banks of the river.
