FIFA World Cup News: The England team has suffered a big setback before its first match in the Football World Cup. According to media reports, many of the team’s important equipment being taken from Florida to Missouri were stolen on the way. The stolen items included players’ boots, footballs, analysis equipment, coach Thomas Tuchel’s strategic whiteboard and a massage table.
Reports claimed that only one football was found left in the cargo. Important team items were stolen while being transported from the training camp in West Palm Beach, Florida, to the Swope Soccer Village base in Missouri. The England Football Association (FA) and the local police are investigating the matter.
Players’ match shoes stolen, ball also missing
It is being told that the stolen items include shoes, footballs, training equipment and other important resources of the football team players. The biggest concern is that the boots of several players, including captain Harry Kane and star midfielder Jude Bellingham, may also be among the stolen items.
Also missing are analysis equipment used for the team’s training and match preparations, head coach Thomas Tuchel’s strategic whiteboard and a massage table used for players’ recovery, according to reports. It is claimed that only one football was found left in the entire cargo.
Big challenge before team management
After the incident, the England Football Association (FA) has started an investigation in collaboration with the local police. Some reports have also claimed that the role of some people involved in the transportation of goods is under suspicion, although this has not been officially confirmed.
The first match of the England team is to be played against Croatia on 18 June. In such a situation, it has become a big challenge for the team management to arrange the necessary equipment and get the preparations back on track.
