Friends, as we all know that WhatsApp is the world’s most popular instant messaging app, which has more than 4 billion users all over the world, the company brings new updates for its users, similarly now, this instant messaging company is working on a big update which will be especially exciting for those users who like to share their moments through WhatsApp status. Until now, photos and videos shared as WhatsApp status would disappear completely after 24 hours, often leaving users with no backup of their beloved memories. But this will not happen in the new feature-
WhatsApp is testing ‘Status Archive’ feature
The company is currently testing a new ‘Status Archive’ feature. This update has been seen in Android beta version 2.26.23.6 of WhatsApp.
How will this new feature work?
This upcoming feature is designed to make status updates more useful and convenient. It will work like this:
Once your WhatsApp status is up for 24 hours, it won’t disappear forever.
Instead, the expired status will automatically be moved to a private archive folder.
This archive will be visible only to you, due to which complete privacy will be maintained.
Users will be able to view old statuses at any time, organize them or even re-share them whenever they want.
Where will you get this option?
Open WhatsApp Settings.
Tap ‘Storage & Data’.
Find the ‘Status Archive’ option and enable it.
Once activated, archived statuses will be viewable through the ‘Status Archive’ section in the ‘Updates’ tab.
Finally a solution to a big problem
Many users often take photos or record videos directly within WhatsApp to upload to Status, without saving them in their phone’s gallery. As a result, once the 24 hours are up, those special moments disappear forever.
The new Status Archive feature aims to solve this long-standing problem by saving those memories in a secure, private place inside the app.
