New Delhi, June 13. An ‘Antonov An-32’ transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed on Saturday morning at Jorhat airbase in Assam. Five Air Force soldiers were martyred in the accident. Immediately after this accident, the Air Force has ordered a ‘Court of Inquiry’ to find out the exact causes of the accident.

According to the information given by the Air Force officials, in this tragic accident, five brave Air Force soldiers have made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the country. However, it is a matter of relief that the co-pilot of the plane has survived safely in this accident, who has suffered serious injuries. His treatment continues in the hospital.

The brave military personnel martyred include Squadron Leader (Sqn Ldr) Prashant Singh, Flight Lieutenant (Flt Lt) Shubham Kumar, Sergeant (Sgt) Jitendra Sharma, Agniveervayu Khemaram Kumawat and Agniveervayu Danish Alam.

The Air Force said in its official statement that the Indian Air Force expresses its deepest condolences to the bereaved families. In this hour of grief, the entire Air Force stands strongly with the families of the martyrs.
