
Lucknow, 13 June. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken immediate cognizance of the incidents of heavy rain, storm and lightning in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours. After assessing the loss of life, animal loss and economic loss in the state, he has given instructions to provide compensation to the affected families within 24 hours. The Chief Minister has instructed all senior officers to immediately go to the field and communicate directly with the affected families.
He said that there should not be any delay in providing relief and assistance. Officials should ensure that every possible assistance is available to every victim’s family. Yogi made it clear that immediate assessment of the loss of life, loss of animals and economic loss of crops and property due to excessive rainfall, lightning and storm should be done. As soon as the assessment is completed, the compensation process should be started and payment should be made within 24 hours, so that the affected people can get relief. Instructions have been given to the administration that in cases of deaths due to lightning, financial assistance should be provided immediately as per the disaster relief policy of the government.
Besides, the compensation action should be expedited after assessing the death of animals and crop loss. The Chief Minister asked the officials to visit the affected villages and communicate with the people and understand their needs. If any family needs medical aid, temporary accommodation or other necessary help, it should be provided immediately.
There was heavy rain and storm along with lightning at many places in the state on Thursday-Friday, due to which there were reports of loss of life and loss of animals. Crops and houses have also been damaged in many districts. Yogi said that the government’s priority at the time of disaster is to provide quick relief to the affected families. He reiterated that officials should work with sensitivity and ensure that no eligible person is deprived of assistance.
