If you are a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, you are likely awaiting the next installment of ₹2,000. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 22nd installment of the PM-KISAN scheme during an event held in Guwahati, Assam, on March 13, 2026. Currently, approximately 9.46 crore farming families across the country are awaiting the 23rd installment.
As of now, the government has not made any official announcement regarding the date. PM-KISAN is one of the Central Government's most popular schemes, providing direct financial assistance to eligible farming families.
When might the 23rd installment be released?
Although the government has not yet announced the date for the 23rd installment, an estimate can be made based on the scheme's past payment patterns. Under the PM-KISAN scheme, three installments are released annually:
First installment: April to July
Second installment: August to November
Third installment: December to March
The 22nd installment was released from December 2025 to March 2026. Consequently, the 23rd installment, covering the April–July 2026 period, is likely to be released in June or July 2026.
What are the benefits of the PM-KISAN scheme?
Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, eligible farming families receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year. This amount is transferred directly to the farmers' bank accounts in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months. The objective is to provide financial support to farmers for farming activities and related needs.
Who can avail the benefits of the scheme?
The benefits of this scheme are available to farming families who have cultivable land registered in their names. A farming family is defined as comprising a husband, wife, and minor children. However, the scheme's benefits do not apply to land that is not cultivable or is being used for non-agricultural purposes.
