30 days of new government completed in West Bengal. During this period, big decisions like making Vande Mataram mandatory, ban on street namaz and withdrawal of Tata Group were taken. Development plans and law and order were discussed in the administrative review meeting.

Kolkata: The politics of West Bengal is once again at the center of major controversy and discussions, where many claims have come to light regarding the “30 day report card” allegedly made under the leadership of opposition leader Subhendu Adhikari. These claims are said to include issues like education policy, ban on religious activities, industrial investment and administrative reforms.

Although there is limited official confirmation regarding these claims, there is strong reaction and debate about it in political circles.

Controversy over claim of making ‘Vande Mataram’ mandatory in schools

According to reports and political statements, steps like making ‘Vande Mataram’ mandatory in schools are claimed to be taken in the first 30 days. Supporters say that this is a step towards strengthening national unity and cultural values.

At the same time, opposition parties allege that such decisions can ideologically influence the education system and this can lead to division in the society.

Claims of ban imposed regarding Namaz on the road

In another big controversial claim, it is being said that there is a ban on offering Namaz on the road. According to alleged reports, the move is said to be aimed at controlling religious activities in public places.

Differences between political and social organizations have deepened on this issue. Some consider it a part of law and order, while others call it a question on religious freedom.

Claim of industrial investment and return of Tata Group

In the same report card, it has also been claimed that major industrial changes are taking place in the state and big companies like Tata Group are returning for investment.

It is being said that this will increase employment opportunities in the state and give impetus to industrial development. However, clear information regarding the formal announcement of investment and detailed agreements has not been revealed yet.

Claim to give 142 acres of land to BSF

Reports also say that 142 acres of land has been allotted to the Border Security Force (BSF). This is being touted as a step to strengthen the security framework and improve border management.

Detailed details on this claim have not been revealed publicly at the administrative level, which has further increased the discussion regarding it.

Claims of political change and defection

The report also claims that major changes are being seen in the politics of the state, where some TMC leaders are said to be joining BJP. Apart from this, the efforts of some Trinamool Congress MPs in Delhi to join the central NDA have also been mentioned.

These claims have created a new stir in the state’s politics, although there is limited official confirmation of these incidents.

Administrative review meeting and discussion of development plans

According to reports, an administrative review meeting was also held at the Chief Minister level, in which health, roads, flood control and employment schemes were reviewed.

Local representatives raised issues to water, health and rural development, while the administration has also been instructed to submit an action taken report within 15 days.

Political reaction and political allegations and counter-allegations

Amidst all these claims, the opposition has termed it as political propaganda, while supporters are calling it a step towards administrative reform and development. The rhetoric between the two sides has intensified.

Political analysts say such “report card narratives” are often used in electoral politics to influence public opinion.

Disputed claim regarding Chief Minister’s post and oath

The report also said that Subhendu Adhikari took oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal on 9 May 2026. However, there is no publicly available comprehensive confirmation of this claim at the official and constitutional level, making the issue a subject of further political debate.
