New Delhi: McLaren has introduced a highly exclusive version of its hybrid supercar, the Artura 1000GP, to commemorate a landmark achievement in the brand’s Formula 1 journey. Created by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the limited-run model celebrates the McLaren Formula 1 Team’s 1,000th Grand Prix start, a milestone reached during this year’s Monaco Grand Prix.
A Tribute to McLaren’s Racing Legacy
The Artura 1000GP has been developed as a rolling celebration of one of Formula 1’s most successful teams. With only 10 examples set to be produced globally, the special edition is expected to attract collectors and enthusiasts eager to own a piece of McLaren’s motorsport history.
The model honors a journey that began in Formula 1 during the 1960s and has since delivered multiple championship titles and more than 200 Grand Prix victories.
Monaco Grand Prix Inspiration
The standout feature of the Artura 1000GP is its distinctive appearance. Drawing inspiration from the Monaco Grand Prix livery of McLaren’s MCL40 Formula 1 cars, the supercar features striking papaya orange accents and exclusive ‘1000GP’ graphics.
Custom detailing extends across the bonnet, mirrors, side panels and lower bodywork. Additional pinstripe elements on the front splitter and rear diffuser pay homage to iconic McLaren race cars from the past.
Inside, the cabin receives a commemorative metallic papaya plaque marking the team’s 1,000th Formula 1 race start, adding another layer of exclusivity.
Hybrid Power Remains Unchanged
While the design receives significant updates, the powertrain remains identical to the standard Artura. The supercar is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with an electric motor and a 7.4kWh battery pack.
Together, the system generates 690hp and 720Nm of torque. Performance remains impressive, with the Artura capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in just three seconds and achieving a top speed exceeding 330km/h.
A Rare Collector’s Piece
Beyond its performance credentials, the Artura 1000GP stands as a symbol of McLaren’s enduring Formula 1 success. Its limited production and motorsport-inspired design ensure it will remain one of the most desirable special-edition McLarens ever produced.
