According to a report from The Athletic, the Red Devils are now interested in bringing him back to Old Trafford. However, Johnstone is not expected to be the first-choice goalkeeper and would likely serve as a backup option to Senne Lammens.

Lammens, the Belgian shot-stopper, has performed admirably since arriving at Manchester United, but the team still needs more experience and depth in that position. Bringing in a seasoned goalkeeper as a deputy could prove to be a smart move. The club is anticipated to sell Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir during the summer transfer window, making it essential to find suitable replacements.

Given his age, securing a starting position at another Premier League side might be challenging. Therefore, he could also consider remaining at Wolves, where he has been playing regularly, to maintain consistent game time.
