A-List celebrities turn heads at Madison Square Garden as New York Knicks host first NBA Finals game since 1999

The New York Knicks ’ return to the NBA Finals created a special atmosphere at Madison Square Garden on Monday night. Game 3 against the San Antonio Spurs attracted many famous personalities. The celebrities ranged from sports, movies, music, and politics. Fans not only watched an important Finals game but were busy spotting these several well-known celebrities sitting courtside.

It was the first NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden since 1999. The excitement around New York City was huge as celebrities came out to support the Knicks. Famous actors, musicians, former athletes, and political leaders were all in attendance. Although the Knicks lost 115-111 to the Spurs, the packed crowd and star-studded celebrity presence became one of the biggest highlights of the night.

Madison Square Garden turns into celebrity hotspot during NBA Finals

Game 3 featured an extraordinary collection of famous faces. Among the most notable attendees was Donald Trump, who became the first sitting U.S. president to attend an NBA Finals game. He was joined by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani as the championship series arrived in Manhattan.


Hollywood was heavily represented throughout the evening. Regular Knicks supporters including Timothée Chalamet, Ben Stiller, Spike Lee, Tracy Morgan, Tina Fey, Larry David, Chris Rock, Mariska Hargitay , Pete Davidson and Jon Stewart were all spotted courtside.

The music industry also had a strong presence. Rap icon Jay-Z attended alongside Fat Joe, Jadakiss and DJ Khaled. Meanwhile, Cardi B entertained the crowd with a halftime performance.

Sports legends were also present. Former Knicks stars Patrick Ewing and Walt Frazier attended the game. Other sporting figures included Eli Manning, Derek Jeter and Henrik Lundqvist.

Adding an international touch to the event, Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were also seen enjoying the action. The couple has been quite active on the international sports circuit. Last year they were spotted attending the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Deepika Padukone became the first Indian actor to unveil the prestigious FIFA World Cup Trophy, at the 2022 finals in Qatar.

Although the Spurs spoiled New York’s celebration by cutting the series deficit to 2-1, Madison Square Garden delivered a memorable night. With Game 4 also set to be played in New York, another celebrity-filled crowd is expected as the Knicks continue their pursuit of a championship.
