On Tuesday, Sanjay Raut, a member of the Shiv Sena (UBT), urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conduct a press conference to inform the public about his achievements over the past 12 years. Recently, Modi marked the completion of his 12-year term. Criticizing the BJP for comparing Modi with former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Raut asserted that the current government cannot surpass Nehru's legacy.

During a press conference in Mumbai, Raut emphasized that while the race for the Prime Minister's position continues, it is undermining democracy. He claimed that the Election Commission is also being compromised, as the government is riding on the backs of various constitutional institutions. Therefore, he believes Modi should demonstrate the courage to hold a press conference. Raut mentioned that due to global pressure, Modi had to terminate Operation Sindoor.

Raut further stated that Modi's actions are in stark contrast to those of Nehru, who was a remarkable leader emerging from the freedom struggle. Nehru donated all his wealth to the nation, which is now valued at 80,000 crores. He established public enterprises, including oil companies, LIC, IITs, and more. Raut challenged Modi to explain what he has accomplished, asserting that while Modi may have broken records from Nehru's era, surpassing Nehru's contributions is impossible.

Meanwhile, when asked about the face of the INDIA bloc for the Prime Minister's position after a meeting in New Delhi, Raut suggested that any common citizen could become Prime Minister. He noted that Uddhav Thackeray, who participated in the meeting virtually, called for unity within the alliance. Raut clarified that Thackeray would not decide the Prime Ministerial candidate for the INDIA bloc. Thackeray emphasized the need for the alliance to remain united, stating that if Modi can be Prime Minister, then any ordinary person can also aspire to that role. The INDIA bloc held a meeting on Monday, attended by leaders from 25 parties.
