During a conversation, Abhijeet Deepke told BBC Marathi that he has graduated from Pune, Maharashtra. What were you doing before becoming CJP?

Even before forming this party, Abhijeet Deepke has been very active on social media. If you want to understand his political views, you can see his old posts on his social media X. In his post, he has shared things to Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Apart from this, he has shared many posts on the NEET paper leak and the subsequent death of students. Along with this, he has also commented on the increase in prices of petrol and diesel, the issue of India-US trade deal and Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar. Abhijeet Deepke has also said in a post that regional parties did not allow BJP to get majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Such parties will be eliminated one by one.

How CJP’s journey began

Abhijit Deepke told the media that he was watching the statement of the Chief Justice of India on X, where he was comparing the youth of the country to cockroaches and parasites to criticize the system and give opinion. After this, Abhijeet considered this statement extremely ridiculous because CJI is considered the guardian of the Constitution of the country. Because the Constitution gives freedom of expression to everyone. And how can a person who is meant to protect freedom of expression compare youth to cockroaches and parasites? This statement of CJI filled him with anger and disappointment and he expressed his opinion on this on Twitter. He asked what would happen if all the cockroaches come together?

After this question, Abhijeet got amazing answers from Gen Z and youth up to 25 years of age and they said that we should come together and create a platform. This is how he got the idea that he should form a parody party, named ‘Cockroach Janata Party’. And thus he formed the Cockroach Janata Party.
Apart from this, he also said that to join this party, he set some eligibility criteria like – you have to be lazy as the CJI said, you have to be unemployed and you have to be constantly online as the CJI said.

However, critics are terming Cockroach Janata Party as an online political drama linked to the opposition. He also cites Deepke’s earlier association with the Aam Aadmi Party and argues that this is a well-planned digital politics.
