A Must-Visit Waterfall Near Dehradun: As June begins, people across the country's plains are struggling with the scorching sun and intense heat. Naturally, everyone is looking to spend a few days in a cool, peaceful location. If you wish to escape the blistering sun and find tranquility in the lap of the mountains, then 'Tiger Fall' in Chakrata—a beautiful hill station in Uttarakhand's Dehradun district—is the perfect destination for you. Right now, this waterfall feels like a slice of foreign paradise to tourists. Tucked away in the scenic valleys of Chakrata, this waterfall has become a hot topic among travel enthusiasts and on social media, with people comparing its beauty to famous waterfalls abroad.
A 312-Foot Waterfall Cutting Through the Mountains
Situated at an altitude of approximately 1,395 meters above sea level, Tiger Fall ranks among the highest and most direct-falling waterfalls in Uttarakhand. It is a spectacular sight to behold as a powerful stream of water cascades down from a height of about 312 feet, slicing through the mountainside and plunging directly into the pool below. The waterfall earned the name 'Tiger Fall' due to the thunderous roar created by the water falling from such a great height—a sound that resembles the roar of a tiger.
Find Peace Here—Without the Crowds of Kempty Falls
The best part about this waterfall is the absence of the heavy crowds and noise typically found at Mussoorie's Kempty Falls. Tiger Fall still retains its pristine, untouched natural beauty. Flowing amidst dense forests of Deodar, Pine, and Oak, the milky-white water evokes the feeling of a waterfall found in a European country. Ramesh, a tourist visiting the area, says that Chakrata is the best hill station to escape the scorching heat of the plains and spend the children's vacation. Visiting this place allows one to feel incredibly close to nature and leaves the mind feeling completely rejuvenated.
