How much money do Indian cricketers earn for playing a test match?

According to reports, Indian players get a total match fee of Rs 15 lakh for playing a test match. He gets this money apart from the annual salary he receives from BCCI. Apart from this match fee, players also get incentives.

BCCI implemented new incentive scheme

In the year 2024, BCCI had implemented a new incentive scheme in Test cricket, so that young players get attracted towards Test cricket. This incentive is given to the players on the basis of the number of matches played in a year.

For example, if a Test player plays more than 50 percent of the Test matches in a season and is a part of the playing 11, then he will get an incentive of Rs 30 lakh. At the same time, if he has been a part of the squad and has not played in the playing 11, he will get an incentive of Rs 15 lakh.

Apart from this, if a player plays more than 75 percent of the test matches in a season, then the playing eleven player will get an incentive of Rs 45 lakh and the non-playing eleven player will get an incentive of Rs 22.5 lakh. For example, if a player plays more than 10 test matches in a season, he earns more than Rs 2 crore.
