Mullanpur. India defeated Afghanistan by an innings and 300 runs on the third day of the one-off Test on Monday and left-arm spinner Manav Sutar’s memorable performance in the debut match was the biggest achievement for the hosts in this match. In the first innings, India had bowled out Afghanistan for 152 runs on the basis of Sutar’s six wickets.

Afghan team collapsed in the second innings

Afghanistan team is 35 in the second innings. Was reduced to 112 runs in 5 overs. This was India’s biggest win on the basis of innings difference. In the second innings, Washington Sundar took four wickets and Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets. India had defeated Afghanistan by an innings and 260 runs in 2018 but it is a matter of relief for the visiting team that they dragged the match till the third day.

Spinner Sutar showed his strength in the debut match

The hero of the match was left arm spinner Sutar from Sriganganagar, Rajasthan. He became the tenth bowler for India to take five wickets in an innings on debut. With his performance, he positioned himself as an alternative to Ravindra Jadeja in the future. India has had bowlers who can take wickets on turning pitches but the 23-year-old carpenter has shown that he can take wickets even on flat pitches.

This is the best time for a carpenter

This is also the best time for the carpenter amidst the retirement of Ravichandran Ashwin and the last phase of Jadeja’s career. The performance of Afghanistan’s batsmen was disappointing. The Indian spinners took full advantage of his irresponsible shot selection. The Afghan batsmen did not learn a lesson from the mistakes of the first innings and the performance was worse in the second innings. Left-handed opener Sediqullah Atal (42) was out on the last ball before tea.

7th spinner to take five wickets in his first test

This year, Atal, who was associated with Delhi Capitals, gave an easy catch to Mohammad Siraj at backward point off the ball of Washington Sundar. Rahmanullah Gurbaz (24) played an aerial shot on Kuldeep’s ball and Siraj caught it at long on boundary. Rahmat Shah (13), who scored a half-century in the first innings, was caught by Sutar on Sundar’s ball. When Sutar completed five wickets in the innings in the morning, there were barely 500 spectators on the field to watch this feat. He became the seventh spinner to take five wickets in an innings in his first Test.
