Arsenal’s reported pursuit of Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers is gathering momentum, with credible indications that the North London club have made initial contact with the player’s representatives. According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, the Gunners have already opened early lines of communication, making this one of the most notable potential transfer stories of the summer window.

Explaining the current situation, Crook stated clearly:

“Arsenal’s interest in Morgan Rogers is genuine. I’m told that there have been early discussions between Arsenal and Rogers’ camp. I think if a huge bid is made between 80m and 100m, Villa with their financial limitations might well have to sell.”

From Arsenal’s perspective, their interest in Rogers is understandable. The 23-year-old has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most dynamic attacking midfielders, combining strength, direct dribbling, creativity, and tactical flexibility.

Rogers is capable of playing as a No.10, out wide on the left, or even as a supporting striker, making him exactly the type of versatile attacking player Mikel Arteta values in his system.

His performance statistics reinforce the excitement around him. During the 2025/26 season, Rogers was directly involved in 26 goals, a level of productivity that has drawn attention from several top clubs, including Arsenal, who are keen to bolster both their midfield and forward options this summer.

Further underlining his rapid rise, Rogers has been included in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the upcoming World Cup, signalling how far his reputation has advanced in a short period of time.

However, the major obstacle for Arsenal remains Aston Villa’s position. Reports suggest that Villa are reluctant to part with one of their standout performers, though significant financial offers could force a rethink.

If Arsenal table a bid in the range of £80 million to £100 million, Villa may find themselves under pressure to consider a sale, especially given the club’s financial constraints.

For Arsenal, this could be a spectacular addition—provided they are fully convinced that Rogers can become a consistent starter in Arteta’s side. Committing such a large fee for a rotational player would be a considerable gamble.

Rogers possesses the physical attributes, confidence, and Premier League experience to make an immediate impact at the Emirates. That said, Aston Villa remain in a strong negotiating position, and Arsenal will need to ensure their interest does not turn into desperation during what promises to be an intriguing transfer saga.
