Goldstein, best known for playing Roy Kent in the acclaimed series Ted Lasso, has spoken about his light-hearted attempt to bring J-Lo into the Tottenham family. While promoting their upcoming Netflix comedy ‘Office Romance’, the actor hinted that the singer and actress is being gently nudged towards embracing the ‘Come On You Spurs’ spirit. When asked if he had managed to win her over to the Spurs cause, Goldstein made his stance clear: she doesn’t have much of a choice. “She has no other option,” Goldstein told talkSPORT.

The actor’s devotion to the Lilywhites is well-known, though he has often described supporting Tottenham as an emotional rollercoaster. Reflecting on the challenges of being a Spurs fan, he previously admitted, “Oh, it’s been horrendous. Being a football fan, especially for teams that we support, is a form of self-harm. It’s just painful. And then the way we felt when we didn’t get relegated was like we’d won the World Cup.”

Harry Kane’s unexpected move to the big screen

Even as Tottenham continue to search for consistency on the pitch, their former captain Harry Kane has been making an impact in Hollywood. The England striker, who joined Bayern Munich in 2023, made a cameo appearance in ‘Office Romance’ that reportedly left a lasting impression on the cast. Goldstein, who has long admired the forward, expressed both his appreciation for Kane’s football skills and his respect for the player’s personality.

“I mean I love Harry Kane,” Goldstein said. “Not only is he one of our greatest footballers, but from everything I have seen he seems to be one of our purest hearts. He is a pure heart. There is nothing I like more than a footballer who is a pure heart. He seems like a really, really good man. And a tremendous footballer. Very happy to have him in the film.”

J-Lo praises Kane’s comic timing

Kane’s role in the film turned out to be more than just a novelty, as Jennifer Lopez herself was full of praise for his natural comedic talent. She recalled how the scene featuring Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer became a highlight during the early stages of production. Despite initial doubts from the production team about how a professional footballer would handle a comedy role, the outcome was warmly received.

“That was a really great scene,” J-Lo shared. “I remember when we did the first table read with the whole cast before we started shooting, and I guess you guys were saying that you were worried about that scene and how it was going to play. And I read it, and everybody was hysterically laughing. I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is so fun,’ and so we had such a good time shooting it.”

Tottenham still seeking life after Kane

While Kane continues to flourish in the Bundesliga and broaden his horizons in Hollywood, Tottenham are still struggling to fill the void left by his departure. The statistics speak volumes: during the 2025-26 season, Kane scored 61 goals across all competitions for Bayern Munich, while the entire Tottenham squad managed only 48 goals in the Premier League over the same period. The north London club have yet to find a worthy replacement for their former talisman.
