According to the family members of the deceased, 27-year-old Rashid had gone to play a cricket match in a school ground in the village on Thursday, June 4. After the match was over, Rashid was returning home with all the players. During this time there was an argument between the players, which turned into a scuffle. According to media reports, during the dispute, a young man hit Rashid on his knee with a bat. Due to this, Rashid fell down, after which the accused youth hit him on the head with a bat.

The accused youth hit Rashid several times on the head with a bat, due to which he got seriously injured and fell on the ground. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the family members reached the spot and admitted Rashid to a private hospital in Baraut. Due to his serious condition, the doctor referred him to Sonipat, from where Rashid was referred to Safdarjung. On Friday, Rashid died during treatment in Safdarjung, Delhi.
