Rising Liverpool talent Rio Ngumoha continues to attract attention across Europe, as German champions Bayern Munich have reportedly identified the teenager as a key target for the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to reports from The Athletic and Sky Germany, Bayern have already held discussions regarding Ngumoha’s potential move. The club is said to be exploring several options to strengthen their attacking lineup following the collapse of their pursuit of Anthony Gordon, with Ngumoha now topping their shortlist.

The 17-year-old winger further enhanced his reputation on Saturday, making his senior debut for England and producing a dazzling performance off the bench. His impact earned him the man-of-the-match award and widespread praise for his creativity and composure on the ball.

Writing for Standard Sport, England reporter Oli Gent remarked on Ngumoha’s display: “A livewire off the right flank, using his trickery and quick feet to great effect on his senior debut. Full of confidence, as shown by his double drag-back late on to bamboozle his marker.”

Ngumoha’s rapid rise has been one of the highlights of Liverpool’s season. In his breakthrough campaign, he has scored two goals and provided one assist in 29 appearances across all competitions. The Reds opted not to sign a direct replacement for Luis Diaz—who himself joined Bayern Munich—in order to give Ngumoha more opportunities to develop within the first team.

His progress was recognised when he signed a professional contract with Liverpool in September, committing his future to the club until 2028.

Despite Bayern’s interest, Liverpool supporters have little reason to worry about losing the youngster this summer, based on his own words earlier in the season. Following his goal in Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Fulham in April, Ngumoha told Sky Sports: “Liverpool, for me, is the biggest club in the world. To start so young and have the manager believe in me, along with all the players, is incredible. I just need to keep working hard, keep pushing forward, and go again.”
