Leeds United supporters based in Tampa Bay are preparing enthusiastically for the club’s pre-season tour of the United States, which will feature a match against Wrexham in Tampa on Saturday, 25 July.

As reported by yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the encounter will take place at the Raymond James Stadium and marks Leeds’ first appearance in America since 1997 under the guidance of manager Daniel Farke.

John Myers, who leads the local supporters’ group, hails from Goole and studied in Leeds before relocating to the U.S. 22 years ago. About six years back, he set up a Facebook community that has now expanded to nearly 320 members. Roughly half of them live in the Tampa Bay area, while others travel from places like Sarasota and Miami. The group includes both American fans and a large number of British expatriates.

Between 15 and 60 fans typically gather to watch matches, currently meeting at Grand Central Brewhouse in St. Petersburg. The group plans to return to a former venue—an English-themed pub owned by a Manchester United supporter—famous for its warm hospitality, Leeds memorabilia, and half-time sausage rolls.

Earlier this year, the supporters’ group hosted Leeds legend Stuart Dallas and actor Matthew Lewis during a Premier League Mornings Live event in April, where fans even enjoyed pints of Guinness adorned with the Leeds crest.

According to Myers, the club has been exploring ideas for the upcoming tour and may collaborate with the local group on fan events. While specific details have not yet been finalised, the supporters remain optimistic about engaging activities surrounding the matches. With the World Cup approaching, it promises to be an exciting summer for Leeds fans across the United States.

Upcoming fixtures include: FC Cincinnati 2 vs New England Revolution II, Orlando City B vs Carolina Core FC, San Jose Earthquakes II vs Real Monarchs, Austin FC II vs Los Angeles Football Club 2, MNUFC2 vs Sporting Kansas City II, Ahrobiznes Volochysk vs Kudrivka, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC II vs North Texas.
