New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India’s 15-member T20 team for the very important tour of England to be held next month. In this selection, the team management has shown far-reaching thinking and made a big and shocking change in the captaincy. Star batsman Suryakumar Yadav has been shown the way out of the team, while in his place, reliable middle-order player Shreyas Iyer has been appointed as the new captain of the T20 team. Apart from this, only 15-year-old young talented batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has left his mark in domestic cricket and IPL, has been included in the senior national team for the first time.
Launch of long term strategy based on youth
Shreyas Iyer will take over the captaincy of senior Team India for the first time on the challenging soil of England. Along with this, by making all-rounder Tilak Verma the vice-captain, the board has given a clear indication that the team management is now working on a long-term plan to prepare the youth and create a strong core team for the future. Cricket fans around the world are also very excited to see 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi making his international debut.
The thrill of five matches will start from July 1
This tour of the Indian team will start from July 1 with a five-match T20 International series. The first match of this series will be played on the Chester Lee Street ground. After this both the teams will move to Manchester for the second match. This entire T20 series will be held till July 11, immediately after which a three-match ODI series is also to be played between the two countries from July 14 to July 19. However, BCCI has not yet announced the names of the players for the ODI series.
