He achieved this feat by defeating Vincent Keimer of Germany in the final round and became the first Indian player to win this title. 20 year old young Grandmaster R. of Chennai. Praggnananda has achieved a historic achievement by winning this title. On the last day of the tournament, he was in third place with 15 points, but in the final and decisive match, he won the classical round and collected full 3 points. With this he won the championship trophy with a total of 18 points.
