Indian cricketer Jitesh Sharma expressed his pride in attending the Youth for Viksit Bharat-MY Bharat Youth Convention held on Saturday. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his unwavering support of sports in India.
The event, organized by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, aimed to align with PM Modi's vision of empowering youth as key contributors to the Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative. It took place at Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi.
Jitesh Sharma Praises PM Modi's Support
In a conversation with the media, Jitesh Sharma noted that PM Modi closely monitors athletes' performances and provides encouragement. He recalled how the Prime Minister motivated the Indian cricket team following their loss in the 2023 World Cup final in Ahmedabad.
He highlighted India's consecutive trophy wins as a significant achievement, pointing out that the contributions of administrators often go unnoticed.
Jitesh's Admiration for PM Modi
"It is always uplifting to discuss youth matters; witnessing the progress of fellow players fills me with pride. I am honored to be here today. I am a great admirer of PM Modi. His deep involvement in sports and the support he provides is extraordinary. He keeps track of every player and their victories, offering encouragement and even tweeting about them," Jitesh Sharma stated.
"After India's loss in the 2023 World Cup, he took the time to visit the dressing room and uplift the team. Winning back-to-back trophies is a remarkable feat, yet the hard work of the administration often remains unrecognized, as the spotlight is usually on the players," he added.
