Tezzbuzz Desk- Indian cricket’s rising star Vaibhav Suryavanshi has achieved another big achievement. At the age of just 15, he has got a place in the Indian T20 team. Vaibhav has been selected in the Indian team announced for the tour of Ireland and England as well as the Asian Games. With this, he has become one of the youngest players to be selected in the Indian men’s cricket team.

There was a discussion in the cricket world for a long time about Vaibhav, who made headlines with his aggressive batting performance in the IPL. Ultimately, the selectors expressed confidence in him and gave him a chance in international cricket. However, after the team selection, a question also arose whether Vaibhav will be seen in Test cricket soon?

In the press conference held after the team selection, chief selector Ajit Agarkar was asked questions about Vaibhav’s Test future. On this he clearly said that at present the young batsman has been given a chance in the same format in which he has performed brilliantly.

Agarkar said that Vaibhav is just starting his cricket career and he should be given time to prove himself further in red-ball cricket. He indicated that any decision regarding Test cricket would be taken only after consistent performance in domestic cricket.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi had caught everyone’s attention with his explosive batting in the IPL. His fearless batting against big bowlers at a young age brought him to the attention of cricket experts and selectors.

His talent can be gauged from the fact that he left behind the record of Sachin Tendulkar, in which Sachin was selected in the Indian team for the first time at the age of 16.

Although Vaibhav has got a place in the team mainly on the basis of his performance in T20 cricket, he has shown his ability in red-ball cricket as well. In 2024, he scored a brilliant century in the Under-19 Test match against Australia.

His experience in Ranji Trophy is still limited. He has played eight first-class matches so far, scoring 207 runs. Despite this, his positive batting style and ability to score fast runs has attracted the attention of cricket experts.

Now the eyes of cricket lovers will be on how Vaibhav Suryavanshi capitalizes on his first opportunity on the international stage and whether he can become a part of the Indian Test team in future.
