The weather in Bihar has once again taken a sudden turn. The weather patterns have changed with strong storms, rain and thundershowers in many parts of the state. According to the latest information, the effect of storm and rain is being seen in five districts including Khagaria and Munger. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for 27 cities of the state and advised people to remain alert.
The sky has been covered with dense clouds in many districts since morning. Rain started with strong winds in some areas, while thunderstorm activities continued at many places. While this change in weather has given relief to people from the scorching heat, the bad weather has also increased problems at many places.
The saddest news is to lightning. Two people have died due to lightning in separate incidents. After these incidents, the administration has appealed to the people to avoid going near open grounds, trees and electric poles during bad weather. Special caution has been advised in rural areas as the risk of lightning remains high.
In many cities of Bihar, an atmosphere of darkness was seen during the day itself. A drop in temperature has been recorded due to dense layer of clouds and strong winds. However, weather experts say that this change may be temporary and the temperature may rise again in the coming days.
According to the Meteorological Department, in the cities where alert has been issued, there is a possibility of strong wind, thunderstorm and light to moderate rain. Wind speeds are expected to be high in some areas, which may cause damage to weak structures, trees and power lines. The administration has instructed the concerned departments to remain alert.
Farmers in rural areas are also keeping an eye on the weather. Amid the recent heat and drought-like conditions, rain is being considered a relief for farming, but strong storms and lightning can also damage crops. Therefore, farmers are continuously following the warnings of the Meteorological Department.
People in many cities have felt relief from the heat. For the past few days, the continuously increasing temperature and humidity had affected life. Rain and cool winds made the weather pleasant, but traffic and daily activities have also been affected due to bad weather.
The administration has appealed to the people to stay safe in their homes during bad weather, pay attention to weather alerts on mobile and stay away from open places during lightning. Especially people working in fields and cattle herders have been advised to take extra precautions.
At present, this changed form of weather is prevailing in many parts of Bihar. The Meteorological Department is continuously monitoring the situation and new alerts can be issued if needed. Rain, strong winds and thunderstorm activities are expected to continue in many areas of the state for the next few hours. In such a situation, people have been advised to remain alert and follow the guidelines issued by the administration.
