The man who is credited as the person who dreamed of and made the Indian Premier League a reality, Lalit Modi, is a very controversial figure. The founder and mastermind behind the IPL, as we all know it, is currently residing in London, United Kingdom, and over the last few months has been giving a number of explosive interviews and sharing a lot of surprising things. Recently, in an interview, he shared that over the last 12 years he has given his son one Ferrari on each of his birthdays, just because he did not receive one while growing up.

The video clip from the interview organized by Smita Prakash, Editor, ANI, with Lalit Modi has now become viral online. It starts off with Lalit Modi mentioning that when he was young, he always wanted a Ferrari. And as his family was extremely wealthy, they could easily afford it. However, his father told him that he would never give him a Ferrari. As a result, it made him attracted towards the Ferrari even more, and he wanted to buy one very badly.

Modi then mentions that it was on his 40th birthday when he got gifted his first Ferrari by somebody. To this, Smita Prakash got shocked and questioned who gets a Ferrari as a gift. To this, he replies that his brother-in-law gifted him a Ferrari and “It is what it is.” Finally, he then stated that, as a result, he now gifts his son a brand-new Ferrari each and every year on his birthday.

He continues and highlights that from the age of 21 to 31, his son, he has gifted him one Ferrari every year. At the moment, his son has 12 Ferraris. Lalit Modi does not mention which exact Ferrari models he has gifted his son. However, over the years, a number of pictures of his Ferraris and other ultra-luxury cars from London have been shared online.

A little while ago, a few images showing two of Lalit Modi’s Ferraris went viral online. In these images, we can note that his Ferrari 812 Superfast and his Ferrari 812 GTS (hardtop convertible version of the 812 Superfast) were seen parked on the side of a road. What makes these Ferraris even more special is the registration plates that have been opted for by the billionaire.

His red Ferrari 812 Superfast has the registration plate “CRI3KET” and his 812 GTS has the registration plate “MOD IR.” The images also show his black Mercedes-Benz Maybach GLS600 parked in front as well. Interestingly, it was also seen with the VIP registration plate of “MOD IA.”

Apart from the Ferrari 812 pair seen in the images above, Lalit Modi also owns a Ferrari 488 Pista Spider as well. For those who may not be aware, the Ferrari Pista Spider is a limited-production hardtop convertible version of the already track-focused 488 Pista, which again is a more hardcore version of the standard 488 GTB. There are only 1,100 units of the Pista Spider in the world.
