The New York Knicks have listed Mitchell Robinson as questionable for Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs as he continues to recover from surgery on a broken finger.
Despite the injury, Robinson is reportedly determined to suit up for the series opener. However, the veteran center still needs final clearance from the team’s medical staff before he can return to action.
Robinson took part in light shooting and ball-handling work on Tuesday after beginning his on-court rehabilitation earlier in the week.
“He did some individual stuff [Monday],” Knicks coach Mike Brown said. “I’m about to talk to our medical people to see what he can do [Tuesday].”
The 28-year-old has provided valuable minutes off the bench during New York’s playoff run, averaging 5.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
