New Delhi: A very painful incident has come to light from the West African country Niger, which has shocked everyone. 49 people died of thirst after a truck broke down in the scorching heat of the Sahara Desert. This accident was so horrific that people remained stranded in the desert for several days and died in agony after the water ran out.
People were returning from Muslim festival
According to media reports, all the people were returning from Mali after attending a Muslim festival. During this time, his truck broke down in a desolate area of the Sahara desert. This area is said to be near Agadez Governorate of Niger, which is considered extremely hot and dangerous. The administration said that this accident happened about 80 kilometers away from Assamaka. Assamaka is an important crossing point between Niger and Algeria.
The condition worsened as soon as the water ran out
It was told that after the truck broke down, the driver and passengers tried hard to repair it, but did not succeed. Gradually the water kept in the vehicle also got exhausted. There was neither any source of water nor food available nearby. The condition of people continued to deteriorate amid the scorching heat and burning sand. Ultimately 49 people died due to thirst and fatigue.
2 people saved their lives
Only two people could survive this tragic incident. According to reports, both of them traveled on foot for about 50 kilometers and somehow reached the water area. Later he informed the authorities about the entire incident. After receiving the information, the administration reached the spot, but by then it was too late. The dead were buried in mass graves.

This area is considered a transit route for immigrants. Here too many people have lost their lives due to heat, hunger and thirst. In such a situation, the harsh conditions of the Sahara Desert can prove to be very dangerous for any human being.
