Previously, Perumda Pasar Jaya had also prepared several traditional markets in Jakarta as additional venues for public viewing of the 2026 World Cup matches.
This initiative aims to bring the festive spirit of the global football event closer to the community while boosting activity within local markets during the tournament.
The President Director of Perumda Pasar Jaya, Agus Himawan, stated that three markets have been included in the initial plan for the 2026 World Cup screening locations.
“For now, there are three markets being prepared as public viewing venues,” said Agus in a statement on Wednesday (June 3, 2026).
However, Agus did not yet specify which markets would be used for the screenings.
He added that the number of locations may still increase as discussions are ongoing.
According to Agus, the program is expected to provide entertainment for residents and create social interaction spaces within traditional markets during the world’s biggest football event.
Currently, Pasar Jaya is still coordinating with TVRI, the official broadcaster of the 2026 World Cup in Indonesia.
The discussions cover various aspects of implementation, from event concepts to the selection of matches to be shown to the public.
“The technical details are still being discussed with TVRI,” he explained.
If realized, Jakarta’s traditional markets will not only serve as trade centers but also as community gathering places to enjoy the 2026 FIFA World Cup together.
This initiative is also expected to bring the global tournament atmosphere into the heart of daily community life, benefiting both vendors and visitors.
