TRIBUNFLORES.COM, SOE - The excitement ahead of the 2026 World Cup is already being felt in several regions.

In Soe, South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, a married couple dressed their five-day-old baby in clothes featuring the colours of the Tango Team flag. The couple are known to be ardent supporters of Argentina’s national football team.

According to a photo shared on social media with the caption “Pancasila wants to be Argentina instead”, the husband and wife, Marfin and Itha, dressed their son—born on 1 June 2026—in an Argentina jersey.

The baby was named Pancasila because he was born exactly on the commemoration day of the Birth of Pancasila.

Admiration for Argentina

The parents not only put a jacket on their newborn but also added a matching hat and socks to keep him warm in Soe’s cool weather.

Even the baby’s bed sheets are decorated with the Argentine flag motif.

When contacted, Marfin said that he and his wife have long been admirers of the team that won the 2022 World Cup.

“We named our child Pancasila because he was born on the Birth of Pancasila Day, on 1 June 2026. My wife and I are huge fans of Argentina. Even our baby’s bed sheets are Argentina-themed. With the World Cup approaching, we decided to dress our baby in Argentina-themed clothes,” he said.

Marfin added that many of his son’s clothes feature Argentina’s colours. He also plans to continue collecting Argentina-themed accessories for his son as he grows older.

“Right now, it’s just clothing because Pancasila is still very small. Later, all the outfits we order will have Argentina themes, including shoes, hats, and other items,” he explained.

Marfin shared this during an interview on Friday, 5 June 2026. He also expressed hope that his family’s favourite team would successfully defend their title at this year’s World Cup.
