A video showing the preparation of a so-called “Chole Bhature Pizza” has gone viral online, triggering a wave of reactions ranging from excitement to disbelief.

Bhatura becomes a pizza base

The viral clip begins with a freshly fried bhatura being used as the base instead of traditional pizza dough. The creator spreads chutney over the bhatura before topping it with chole and chopped onions.

Additional ingredients such as capsicum, sweet corn, paneer, cheese, mayonnaise and tandoori sauce are then added before the dish is baked in an oven.

The result is a crispy, cheese-loaded creation that resembles a pizza while retaining the flavours of the popular North Indian street food.
