The journey started from Northamptonshire Academy
Emilio Gay studied at Bedford School and started playing cricket at an early age. He joined Northamptonshire Academy at under-15 level. In 2018, he was chosen Academy Player of the Year, after which he got his first professional contract. He made his first-class debut for Northamptonshire in September 2019 and gradually established himself as a reliable top-order batsman in county cricket.

Made headlines with record innings of 261 runs
The biggest turning point in Emilio Gay’s career came in April 2024, when he played a brilliant inning of 261 runs against Middlesex. It was also the highest individual score by a batsman for Northamptonshire against Middlesex. After this, in August 2024, he signed a three-year contract with Durham County Cricket Club and took his game to new heights.
