Kathmandu. Student organizations associated with Nepal’s opposition leftist parties demonstrated in Kathmandu on Thursday in protest against Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s statement regarding the disputed border. The protesters alleged that the Prime Minister’s statement had hurt national interest and sovereignty.

In the program organized by about a dozen student organizations associated with various leftist parties, the protesters demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Shah, calling his statement ‘anti-national’. At the protest meeting, Nepali Communist Party leader Sudesh Parajuli said that the statement given in the Parliament is tantamount to a serious attack on the interests of the nation.

Parajuli said that running the country is not an easy task like singing rap while drinking tea. Balendra Shah, who was seen as Balen Shah in Kathmandu till yesterday, is seen as an Indian Shah after reaching Parliament today. To condemn and condemn this thinking and expression, our party is standing alert in Maiti Ghar.

He alleged that the government appears to be standing against nationalism and national interests. Parajuli said that his party has been forced to take to the streets to make such rulers realize the power of the people and to protect national self-respect.

During the demonstration, the workers raised slogans against the Prime Minister’s statement and demanded the government to reconsider its stand. There is a continuous reaction on this issue from the opposition parties and various political groups, due to which the border debate seems to be intensifying in the politics of Nepal.
