The Delhi government declared on Thursday that families of those who lost their lives in the Malviya Nagar hotel fire will receive a compensation of ₹10 lakh, while those severely injured will be granted ₹5 lakh. According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited Max Hospital in Saket to meet the injured and assess their treatment. During her visit, she interacted with the victims and their relatives, instructing officials to ensure all possible support for the affected families. The Delhi CMO stated, "Each family of the deceased will receive ₹10 lakh as compensation, and those seriously injured will be provided with ₹5 lakh in assistance.
Government's Commitment to Medical Care
The government also assured that all patients would receive the best possible medical care, coordinating with hospital officials to cover the medical expenses of the injured. Additionally, arrangements are being made to transport the deceased's bodies to their native places. The Delhi government stands firmly with every affected family, praying for the swift recovery of the injured and strength for the grieving families during this challenging time. This announcement of compensation comes as investigations into the devastating fire continue. Sources indicate that investigators discovered the exit door from the hotel roof was closed at the time of the fire, potentially blocking a crucial escape route for those trapped inside.
Investigation Underway
Delhi police have formed ten teams to investigate the incident, with five teams specifically tasked with locating the absconding hotel manager, Jai Mishra. Investigators are also searching for a key eyewitness whose testimony could help establish the sequence of events leading to the fire.
Hotel Owner's Disclosure
During questioning, hotel owner Lovkesh Bajaj revealed that he owns three hotels: Lemon Green, Mikasa, and Flourish Stay. Sources indicate that two of these establishments are his private properties, while he is a partner in Mikasa along with three other individuals.
