Will Mother Dairy increase milk prices again?

Mother Dairy Milk Price: Amid the ongoing tension in the Middle East and the impact on the supply chain, milk prices have recently seen a rise in many states of the country. Meanwhile, Mother Dairy, India's leading fresh milk supplier, has clarified that it has no intention of increasing the retail prices of milk at present. The company gave this information on Tuesday. On May 14, the company had increased the price of milk by Rs 2 per liter to partially compensate for the rising costs. This increase was done after almost a year.

The company's statement came out.

Mother Dairy Chairman Meenesh Shah stated that the milk supply situation is currently good and milk procurement from farmers is normal, so there are no plans to increase prices right now. However, he clarified that if future costs increase and it becomes difficult to cover expenses, prices may be reconsidered.

According to Shah, the milk production situation in the country is good. Despite the IMD's forecast of a below-normal monsoon, there are no major fodder supply issues expected. While there may be problems in some states, these can be compensated for by supply from other regions.

Estimated increase in milk production

Meenesh Shah stated that this financial year, the country's milk production could increase by 4-6 percent from last year's approximately 250 million tons. This means that meeting the growing demand for dairy products will be easy for the next 10-15 years. Mother Dairy says that milk procurement costs have increased by approximately 6 percent over the past year. The company distributes approximately 75-80 percent of its milk sales revenue to farmers.

Company performance and business

Mother Dairy, founded in 1974, reported a 17 percent growth in FY26, increasing its turnover to ₹20,300 crore. This growth was driven by strong demand for milk products and cooking oil. The company has nine milk processing plants and four horticultural product processing plants. In the oil sector, it operates through 16 subsidiaries.
