Indian Railways: Due to platform upgradation work at Puri Station, the operations of several trains will be affected during June; instead of Puri, these trains will originate from or terminate at Malatipatpur Station. Check the list before you travel.
Indian Railways Update: Important news for train travelers. Platform upgradation work is currently underway at Puri Station. Consequently, the Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway has implemented changes to the operations of certain trains. Several trains associated with the South East Central Railway will not proceed up to Puri Station during the specified period; instead, they will originate from or terminate at Malatipatpur Station.
Trains to Terminate and Originate at Malatipatpur Station
According to Shiv Prasad, Senior PRI of the Raipur Railway Division, the operations of several trains will be affected on various dates between June 3 and June 20, 2026. During this period, these trains will run from—or terminate at—Malatipatpur Station instead of Puri Station.

Changes in the Operations of These Trains
On June 7 and 14, Train No. 12145 LTT-Puri Express will terminate at Malatipatpur. Conversely, on June 9 and 16, Train No. 12146 Puri-LTT Express will originate from Malatipatpur.
Additionally, on June 5 and 12, Train No. 12993 Gandhidham-Puri Express will terminate at Malatipatpur. On June 8 and 15, Train No. 12994 Puri-Gandhidham Express will depart from Malatipatpur.
Furthermore, on June 3 and 10, Train No. 22973 Gandhidham-Puri Express will terminate at Malatipatpur. On June 6, 13, and 20, Train No. 22974 Puri-Gandhidham Express will run from Malatipatpur.
On June 9 and 16, Train No. 20917 Indore-Puri Humsafar Express will terminate at Malatipatpur. On June 4, 11, and 18, the 20918 Puri-Indore Humsafar Express will originate from Malatipatpur.
On June 7 and 14, the 20471 Shri Ganganagar-Puri Express will terminate at Malatipatpur. On June 10 and 17, the 20472 Puri-Shri Ganganagar Express will depart from Malatipatpur.
Special Train Facility for Passengers from June 3 to July 2
86 Trains Reinstated
In a piece of relieving news for passengers, the Railway Administration has decided to reinstate 86 trains that had previously been temporarily cancelled. This includes 76 Express trains and 10 Passenger trains.
Why Was This Decision Taken?
Non-interlocking work was scheduled to be carried out at Champa Station for the construction of a fourth railway line; consequently, the decision to cancel these trains had been taken. However, in view of the severe inconvenience being faced by passengers, the Railways has temporarily postponed this work and decided to resume train operations. Significantly, the resumption of these trains will bring relief to lakhs of passengers across several states, including Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.
