Football legend Sir David Beckham is set to receive a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced that the former England captain will be celebrated in a special ceremony on Friday, 12 June, at 6819 Hollywood Boulevard. The event will feature actor Tom Cruise and Beckham’s wife, Victoria Beckham, as guest speakers. The 51-year-old sports icon will be presented with the Walk’s 2,849th star.

Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said, “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome David Beckham to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

She further added, “David Beckham’s recognition with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in the Sports Entertainment category comes at a fitting moment as the United States prepares to host the FIFA World Cup. Beckham’s contribution to raising the profile of football in America, along with his enduring impact on sport, entertainment, and global culture, makes this honour especially significant.”

This distinction comes just before the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup, which will kick off later this month across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Sir David Beckham’s illustrious playing career spanned two decades, during which he became the first English footballer to win league titles in four different countries — England, Spain, the United States, and France.

In 2018, Beckham became co-owner of Major League Soccer team Inter Miami, which celebrated its maiden MLS Cup victory last year.

Beyond his football achievements, Beckham has been dedicated to various charitable initiatives and has served as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF since 2005, supporting humanitarian causes worldwide.

Last year, he was knighted in recognition of his exceptional services to sport and charity.
