Mumbai The craze of 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who created a stir with his stormy batting in the IPL, is now forcing broadcasters to change their strategy at the international level. His presence in the India A team has raised the profile of the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka to such an extent that Sony Sports Network has decided to telecast it live with full coverage. This series will be played in Dambulla from June 9 to 21, in which the teams of India A, Afghanistan and host Sri Lanka will participate.

Sony Network returns to cricket

In recent times, Sony Network had stayed away from major cricket tournaments as matches like World Cup and IPL were being telecasted on its rival Jio Hotstar. In such a situation, Sony did not miss the opportunity to cash in on the craze of ‘Suryavanshi Express’. Through a post on social media, the network announced, “Sooryavanshi Express is coming and will shine on the stage of an epic tri-series.” It is noteworthy that as the official broadcast partner of Sri Lanka Cricket, Sony also has the broadcast rights of the India-Sri Lanka bilateral series to be held in August.

Rituraj gets vice-captaincy, suspense still on T20 series

Here, BCCI recently announced that Rituraj Gaikwad will be the vice-captain of the team in place of injured Riyan Parag. The command of the team will be in the hands of Tilak Verma. The possibility of adding three T20 matches with the two-Test series is still under discussion, but there has been no official confirmation on this yet. Currently, all eyes are on this tri-series starting from June 9 and the magic of Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
