Yan Diomandé (19) is reportedly on the verge of leaving RB Leipzig this summer, with Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain emerging as leading contenders for his signature. The Ivorian winger has now openly admitted that he has had a long-standing affection for the French champions since his early days.
During the last season, Diomandé recorded 13 goals and 9 assists for RB Leipzig, playing a vital role in securing the club’s return to the UEFA Champions League. His consistent performances have drawn attention from top European clubs. According to a report by Foot Mercato, he is believed to have already reached an agreement with PSG, who recently celebrated back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles.
In an interview with Téléfoot, when asked whether he was pleased with PSG’s Champions League triumph, Diomandé mentioned that his father has always been a supporter of Les Parisiens. Speaking further to L’Équipe, he shared, “I have loved PSG since I was a kid but I am not looking ahead to my future. I am staying focused on the World Cup, then we will see.”
As a fluent French speaker, Diomandé will soon face Les Bleus in a pre-tournament friendly this Thursday. His national side is set to meet Ecuador, Germany, and Curacao in the group stage of the upcoming World Cup.
