Rajasthan Royals youngster Vaibhav Sooryavanshi looked back at what he said was a pretty unforgettable IPL 2026 season , and he also thanked the teammates and the supporters , for sticking with the squad for the whole run.

The Royals seemed to have momentum for most of the tournament, they ended up in Qualifier 2, even if it eventually stopped against Gujarat Titans. So yeah, they didn’t make it to the final, but still their work and performances left quite an impression on a lot of people.

Rajasthan Royals’ Journey to the Playoffs

Rajasthan Royals wrapped up the league phase in fourth place, with eight wins out of 14 matches. The trip to the playoffs wasn’t smooth, not at all.

They started off like they meant it, by winning their first four games. Then things turned a bit awkward, they slipped in six of the next eight matches. That meant, near the end they were basically in a must-win situation.

Still, RR found a way to book a spot on the final day of the league phase. After that they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator, but then lost to Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2, which is where their campaign concluded.

Sooryavanshi’s Record-Breaking Season

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was without doubt one of the biggest names in IPL 2026. This teenage batter piled up 776 runs across the tournament, averaging 48.50 and putting up an eye-catching strike rate of 237

He ended the season with five half-centuries, plus one century. Also, he smashed 72 sixes, that was the highest in the entire competition, and honestly it really stood out

One innings people still talk about was the Eliminator vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he made 97 runs off just 29 balls. He was close to a hundred, but he couldn’t get there, and he got out in the 90s three times during the season, including two times in the playoffs. Not ideal, but still massive impact.

Because of his performances, Sooryavanshi ended up winning five major awards at the IPL 2026 Awards Ceremony. He took home the Orange Cap, Super Sixes Award, Super Striker Award, MVP Award and the Emerging Player Award.

"Everyone Here Is Like My Family"

In a video Rajasthan Royals put out on social media, players spoke about what the season meant to them before heading back home.

On the bond he built inside the group, Sooryavanshi said:

"I will miss everyone here. Everyone was like my family, so I especially will miss them all."

Those lines basically pointed to the tight connection he developed with teammates while the tournament was going on.

Message for Rajasthan Royals Fans

Sooryavanshi also dropped a message for the Rajasthan Royals supporters. The teenager said the franchise will try harder to get the things they couldn’t manage this year.

He Added:

"The only message I have is that what didn't happen this year, we will hopefully complete it next year and win our second IPL trophy."

Rajasthan Royals lifted the very first IPL trophy back in 2008, but after that, they’ve not won the trophy again since then. With a strong young set of players, and Sooryavanshi pushing forward, the team will be hoping this long wait finally ends in the seasons ahead.
