Kuwait City: An Indian citizen has died following an attack on Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday, according to official confirmations from the Embassy of India in Kuwait. The incident has triggered strong condemnation from India over attacks on civilian infrastructure.
The embassy said it is in close coordination with Kuwaiti authorities and is extending all possible assistance to the family of the deceased. The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed.
Airport Operations Disrupted After Strike
Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that the the airport was hitleading to damage at Terminal 1 and disruption of regular operations. Flight services were temporarily affected, with some aircraft diverted due to the security situation.
Officials also reported that several people sustained injuries in the attack. Emergency services were deployed to manage casualties and assess damage at the site.
Embassy Assures Support to Family
The Indian Embassy in Kuwait stated that it is in constant contact with local authorities and is working to provide full support to the bereaved family. Officials reiterated that assistance is being ensured for both the deceased’s relatives and those injured.
The embassy added that further details regarding the victim will be shared after formal identification procedures are completed.
MEA Strongly Condemns Attack
India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) strongly condemned the incident, calling for the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure in conflict zones.
In its statement, the MEA said it was deeply saddened by the loss of an Indian life and urged all parties involved in the wider regional tensions to avoid targeting non-military sites and civilians.
